Achieving good quality in the vineyard is a task you have to work on the entire year because good quality does not just pop up in the vineyards, it is a lot of hard work. For me it is kind of hard to focus on only one region to grow my grapes. There are so many special soils and each of them is made for certain grapevarieties - t he challenge is to set those great soils and grapes in the right spotlight. I do own my own vineyards in Kamptal and Weinviertel in which I work with organic sources only but I also buy grapes from other winegrowing regions such as Wachau, Traisental or Thermenregion. I always have the chance to not only work with different grape varieties, but with more different terroirs. We only do hand harvest to keep the grapes as untouched as possible before they hit the winepress.
